From
the Back Cover --
Growing up, Walter Lambert learned to cook out of necessity. As an adult
he learned it could be a lot of fun. Walter has written a series of
cookbooks, the first of which was called Kinfolks and Custard Pie,
followed by the very popular Cooking with the Noonday chef 1, 2 and 3.
He has also been a restaurant reviewer for the Knoxville
News-Sentinel, and since May of 1989 has been the chef on WKXT's and
later WVLT's popular noon news program. His wife, Anne, has been a
cookbook collector all her life, and several years now has devoted much
of her effort to garnishing and presentation. Her centerpieces are a
regular part of Volunteer News at Noon. Walter is retired as the
Associate Vice President for State and Federal Relations for the
University of Tennessee, where he worked for almost 35 years.
