Chapter 1: Conquering Yourself
As believers, we concern ourselves with overcoming the wiles of the
devil. However, we must first realize that the most important task
before us is not conquering the devil but conquering our “self”.
About the Authors --
Stephanie Stratford is a gifted
preacher/teacher and evangelist who is known for her unique and dynamic
presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She has served the Body of
Christ across the nation as a conference speaker and minister to women
for over 25 years. She is currently the Director of Church Ministries at
Galilee Baptist Church in Suitland, Maryland.
She and her husband, Thomas, are co-owners of the Stratford Group, an
organization which provides services in ministry consulting, event
planning and commentating, announcing and voiceovers.
Her passion and hearts desire is that women’s lives be changed through

Valdenia Simmons earned a BA in
Journalism from the University of the District of Columbia. She recently
retired after nearly 30 years of government service to start VisionWorks
Consulting Services, a company providing training marketing and
curriculum development services. Ms. Simmons can be reached at
