From
the Back Cover --
She was the granddaughter of a
Southern Baptist minister. She was the first Native American elected to
serve as President, Superintendent, and Director of the Woman’s
Missionary Union in the Burnt Swamp Association. She was a graduate of
Bowling Green State Teacher College and Woman’s Missionary Union
Training Carver School (Southern Seminary) Louisville Ky. Thirty plus
years have elapsed since the master called this saintly lady home.
However, she is still visibly remembered in most of the association
churches and across this great state. Only heaven will record the impact
she made in the lives of those she touched. She was a humble servant,
whose deep brown eyes, unique laugh and voice could capture you in a
moment. A firm, prominent cheek line matched her determined will. She
developed a skillful voice to converse, sing, read dramatically and even
“preach” the gospel when called upon.
